The open dataset

The accountability work produces a public dataset: every sitting MP's roles, committees, public social accounts, ethics-registry declarations, registered lobbying contacts, recorded votes, and the documented cross-references between them. Compiled from official open data, refreshed regularly, licensed CC BY 4.0.

How we handle the record

Investigating people who hold public office is a responsibility. The rules are built into the product, not bolted on.

Public role onlyPublic records about people acting in their public capacity. No private life, no home addresses.
Sourced or it doesn't shipEvery data point links to the official record it came from. Model-derived fields are labelled as such.
Leads are hypothesesA scored lead is a question to investigate, with what would confirm and what would refute it — never a finding of wrongdoing.
Lawful ≠ suspiciousA registered lobbying contact, a declared gift or a vote is a lawful, disclosed fact. Context, not accusation.
